24-Core Threadripper Workstation

This liquid-cooled desktop pairs a 24-core AMD Threadripper 9960X processor with 512 GB of DDR5 ECC memory and a 16 GB Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti graphics card. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and targets professionals who need high multi-threaded compute and GPU acceleration in a single tower.

PCIe 4.0 Storage Limits

Three Samsung 990 PRO M.2 SSDs deliver up to 7 450 MB/s read and 6 900 MB/s write each over PCIe 4.0 x4, while the 10 TB hard drive connects via SATA III. The motherboard provides four M.2 connectors and eight SATA 6 Gb/s ports, so the practical ceiling for additional NVMe devices is the remaining slot count.

512 GB DDR5 ECC Memory

The system includes 512 GB of DDR5 ECC RAM installed across the TRX50 platform, which determines the maximum dataset size that can stay in memory without paging. Buyers who need more capacity than this single configuration provides must look for a different motherboard or chassis that supports higher density modules.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 2TB or 4TB NVMe Samsung 990 PRO as my primary boot drive?

The 2TB NVMe Samsung 990 PRO is the first M.2 slot and reaches 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write; the two 4TB drives match those speeds and add capacity for projects.

What does the 4.2 GHz base clock on the Threadripper 9960X mean for sustained workloads?

The 24-core processor runs at 4.2 GHz base and can boost to 5.3 GHz across its 48 threads, so heavy rendering or simulation tasks keep high frequency without throttling.

How does the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface on the Samsung 990 PRO SSDs limit real-world throughput?

Each drive uses a PCIe 4.0 x4 link, capping sequential transfers at the rated 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write you see in the specifications.
