Threadripper 9960X 24-core workstation

This liquid-cooled desktop pairs an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9960X running at 4.2 GHz with 512 GB of DDR5 ECC memory and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 16 GB graphics card. It targets engineers and creators who need high core counts, large memory capacity and GPU acceleration in a single Windows 11 Pro system.

6 TB NVMe plus 10 TB HDD storage

The boot volume uses a 2 TB Samsung 990 PRO and a 4 TB Samsung 990 PRO, each rated for 7450 MB/s reads and 6900 MB/s writes. A 10 TB SATA III hard drive with 256 MB cache adds bulk capacity. The four M.2 slots on the TRX50 AERO D motherboard are fully populated, so further NVMe expansion requires removing an existing drive.

360 mm liquid cooler and 1200 W Gold PSU

A 360 mm quiet-edition AIO handles the 24-core CPU while a Thermaltake Toughpower 1200 W 80 PLUS Gold unit with a 140 mm fan supplies power. The Corsair 5000D Frame case provides front and rear 120 mm airflow. Under sustained multi-threaded loads the liquid loop keeps temperatures stable and the PSU fan remains at low noise levels.

Questions about this item

Will the 24-core Threadripper 9960X share bandwidth with my existing PCIe 3.0 add-in cards?

The TRX50 motherboard provides PCIe 4.0 lanes for the 24-core CPU, so PCIe 3.0 cards will operate at their native speed without bottlenecking the processor.

How do I confirm the 512GB DDR5 ECC memory is running with error correction active?

Open Windows 11 Pro Task Manager, select the Performance tab, click Memory and verify that "ECC" is shown as enabled for the 512GB installed capacity.

Does the box include mounting brackets for the 10TB SATA 6Gb/s hard drive and both Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSDs?

The Corsair 5000D case ships with internal 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch bays plus M.2 slots on the TRX50 AERO D board, so all three drives install without extra brackets.
