24-Core Threadripper Workstation

This liquid-cooled desktop workstation ships with a 24-core AMD Threadripper 9960X processor, 256GB of DDR5 ECC memory and an Nvidia RTX PRO 4500 graphics card with 32GB of video memory. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed on a 2TB NVMe boot drive, while a second 4TB NVMe drive and a 10TB SATA hard drive provide additional capacity. The system is built on a Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D motherboard inside a Corsair 5000D Frame case powered by a 1200W 80 PLUS Gold supply.

Who this suits and who it does not

Engineers, researchers and content creators who need 24 cores, 48 threads and large ECC memory pools for simulation, rendering or AI workloads will benefit from this configuration. Buyers who do not require workstation-class GPU memory or registered ECC RAM should consider alternatives.

Deciding specification: 32GB GPU memory

The RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell card provides 32GB of video memory, which determines whether the system can hold large models, textures or datasets entirely on the GPU. If your workload fits within that frame buffer the workstation is well matched; if it exceeds it you will need a card with more memory.

Questions about this item

What does the 4.2 GHz base clock mean for sustained workloads on this 24-core Threadripper?

The 24-core Threadripper 9960X runs at 4.2 GHz base and can boost up to 5.3 GHz, giving 48 threads of consistent throughput for rendering, simulation and compile jobs.

How fast are the Samsung 990 PRO SSDs over the PCIe 4.0 x4 link?

Both the 2 TB and 4 TB Samsung 990 PRO drives deliver up to 7 450 MB/s reads and 6 900 MB/s writes over PCIe 4.0 x4.

Will the 360 mm liquid cooler and RTX PRO 4500 fit in the Corsair 5000D Frame case?

Yes — the case measures 520 x 245 x 520 mm and supports a 360 mm radiator plus full-length graphics cards, so the AIO and RTX PRO 4500 install without clearance issues.
