Custom 32-Core Threadripper Workstation

This liquid-cooled tower pairs a 32-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9970X processor with 256GB of DDR5 ECC memory. An Nvidia RTX 2000 Blackwell graphics card with 16GB VRAM handles visual compute. Storage combines 8TB of NVMe SSD space across two 4TB Samsung 990 PRO drives and a 10TB SATA hard drive. A 1200W 80 PLUS Gold power supply runs Windows 11 Pro.

For parallel compute, not single-thread speed

Engineers running simulation, rendering or large-model training workloads that scale across 64 threads will use the full CPU. The 360mm liquid cooler keeps sustained clocks stable. Buyers whose software is limited to a few cores or who need maximum single-thread frequency should consider a lower-core-count platform instead.

256GB DDR5 ECC memory capacity

The system ships with 256GB of DDR5 ECC RAM installed on the sTR5 motherboard. This capacity decides whether the workstation fits the dataset size. Buyers who need more memory must verify the board’s maximum supported capacity before ordering.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 360mm AIO liquid cooler on the sTR5 socket, and what step is often missed?

Mount the cold plate on the CPU using the sTR5 bracket, then connect the pump header and the three 120mm radiator fans to the motherboard fan headers so the curve controls them together.

Which components will need replacement first under heavy workloads?

The 1200W PSU's 140mm fan and the AIO pump are the only moving parts; expect the fan to need service before the pump.

What thermal limit appears first during sustained all-core loads?

The 360mm radiator surface area caps heat dissipation, so coolant temperature stabilises the ceiling before the CPU hits its boost ceiling.
