64-Core Threadripper Workstation

The Adamant Custom business desktop pairs a 64-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9980X processor with 128GB of DDR5 ECC memory and an Nvidia Geforce RTX 5090 32GB graphics card. Liquid cooling and a 1600W 80+ Titanium power supply support sustained heavy workloads in a Corsair 5000D FRAME tower.

Upgrade from Consumer Platforms

This system replaces standard consumer desktops when workloads demand 64 cores, 128 threads and ECC memory integrity. The jump is worth it for simulation, rendering or large-dataset tasks that exceed mainstream CPU core counts and non-ECC memory capacity. The TRX50 AERO D motherboard provides 10GbE LAN and multiple M.2 slots for expansion.

Sustained Load Behaviour

A 360mm quiet-edition liquid cooler and the Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 unit with a 140mm fan keep the 9980X near its 5.4 GHz boost under prolonged compute pressure. The Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSD delivers up to 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write speeds without thermal throttling during extended transfers.

Questions about this item

What case clearance does the 360 mm liquid cooler need?

The 360 mm AIO mounts in the Corsair 5000D FRAME case which measures 520 mm deep, 245 mm wide and 520 mm high, so the radiator fits in the standard top or front positions.

How is the CPU cooler installed, and which step is often missed?

The 360 mm AIO arrives pre-filled; mount the radiator to the case, attach the pump block to the sTR5 socket using the supplied Threadripper bracket, then connect the pump header and radiator fans to the motherboard — skipping the bracket swap is the common error.

Which components will need replacement first under heavy workloads?

The 140 mm PSU fan and the 120 mm case fans are the only moving parts besides the AIO pump; expect to replace fans before the Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 supply or the liquid loop.
