Threadripper 9980X 64-Core Workstation

This liquid-cooled tower pairs a 64-core Threadripper 9980X processor with 128GB of DDR5 ECC memory and a GeForce RTX 5060 8GB GPU. It targets professionals who need sustained multi-threaded throughput for rendering, simulation or AI workloads in a single Windows 11 Pro system.

Pre-built tower with standard ATX layout

The workstation arrives fully assembled inside a Corsair 5000D Frame case with a 360mm AIO cooler already mounted. Installation is limited to adding peripherals and drives; the only common friction point is the physical weight of the 1200W PSU and dual-radiator loop when moving the chassis into a rack or desk cubby.

6TB NVMe plus 10TB HDD storage pool

Two Samsung 990 PRO drives deliver 6TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe capacity with sequential speeds up to 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write, while a 10TB SATA HDD adds bulk archive space. The NVMe array handles active project files and cache comfortably; the mechanical drive becomes the bottleneck for sustained sequential writes above its SATA 6Gb/s link.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the Threadripper 9980X is reaching its 5.4 GHz boost after setup?

Open Task Manager or a monitoring tool and watch the CPU frequency under a heavy multi-threaded load; the 64 cores should show speeds climbing toward 5.4 GHz when thermals allow.

What storage drives are already installed and what extra bays remain free?

The system ships with a 2 TB NVMe Samsung 990 PRO, a 4 TB NVMe Samsung 990 PRO and a 10 TB SATA HDD; the case still has two 3.5 inch and four 2.5 inch internal bays available.

Which GPU fits this workstation if I need more VRAM than the RTX 5060 8 GB provides?

The Corsair 5000D frame and 1200 W PSU support full-length dual-slot cards, so you can upgrade to a higher-VRAM RTX model without changing the power supply or case.
