Workstation with Threadripper 9960X

This 24-core liquid-cooled tower runs Windows 11 Pro and ships with 64GB DDR5 ECC memory. It pairs a 10TB SATA hard drive with 6TB of NVMe SSD storage across two Samsung 990 PRO drives. A 32GB RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell GPU handles professional visual workloads.

Suited to simulation and render pipelines

The 24 cores and 48 threads at up to 5.3 GHz suit CPU-bound simulation, compilation and offline rendering. Buyers who need more than 64GB memory or multiple GPUs should look at a larger platform. The single-socket TRX50 board limits expansion to one processor.

6TB NVMe plus 10TB HDD headroom

Two NVMe drives deliver up to 7450 MB/s reads and 6900 MB/s writes for active project files and caches. The 10TB SATA drive adds bulk capacity for archives and datasets. Workloads exceeding 64GB system memory or 32GB GPU memory will spill to slower storage.

Questions about this item

Does the Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D motherboard require a specific power supply connector for the Threadripper 9960X?

The Thermaltake Toughpower 1200W 80 PLUS Gold PSU included with this workstation provides all necessary connectors for the sTR5 socket and 24-core CPU.

Can I keep using my existing SATA III hard drives with the 10TB drive already installed?

Yes, the motherboard offers eight SATA 6Gb/s ports, so additional SATA III drives can be added alongside the installed 10TB HDD.

How can I verify the RTX PRO 4500 32GB GPU is recognised correctly after Windows 11 Pro setup?

Open Device Manager and confirm the Nvidia RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell 32GB appears under Display adapters with the correct driver version.
