32-Core Threadripper PRO Workstation

This liquid-cooled desktop pairs a 32-core AMD Threadripper PRO 9975WX running at 4.0 GHz with 256 GB of DDR5 ECC memory. It targets engineers, researchers and studios that need certified stability for simulation, rendering and large-model AI workloads. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro and a 1600 W 80+ Titanium power supply.

PCIe 4.0 NVMe and SATA III storage limits

Three Samsung 990 PRO drives deliver up to 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write across a 2 TB plus two 4 TB NVMe volumes. A 10 TB SATA III hard drive adds bulk capacity at mechanical-drive speeds. The platform provides four M.2 slots and eight SATA 6 Gb/s ports, so further expansion stays within the PCIe 4.0 and SATA III ceilings.

Upgrade from dual-socket or consumer HEDT

The single-socket 32-core design replaces older dual-processor boxes while cutting power draw and software licensing costs. It also outpaces mainstream high-end desktop CPUs that top out at lower core counts and lack ECC memory support. The jump is worth it when workloads scale past 16 cores and demand registered DDR5 reliability.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 2 TB, 4 TB or 4 TB NVMe SSD for my OS and active projects?

The 2 TB Samsung 990 PRO is the fastest single drive at up to 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write, so use it for the OS and current workload; the two 4 TB 990 PRO drives add another 8 TB of identical-speed NVMe storage for large datasets.

What does the Threadripper PRO 9975WX 4.0 GHz base clock deliver inside this chassis?

The 32-core, 64-thread CPU can boost up to 5.4 GHz with 128 MB L3 cache, cooled by a 360 mm liquid loop and a 1600 W 80+ Titanium PSU, so sustained all-core speeds stay high during long renders or simulations.

How fast can the PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots actually move data with the installed Samsung 990 PRO drives?

Each drive is rated for up to 7450 MB/s sequential read and 6900 MB/s write, matching the practical ceiling of the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface on the TRX50 AERO D motherboard.
