64-Core Threadripper Workstation

This liquid-cooled desktop pairs a 64-core AMD Threadripper PRO 9985WX with 512GB DDR5 ECC memory and an Nvidia RTX 5060 8GB GPU. It targets engineers and researchers who need high core counts and error-correcting RAM for simulation, rendering or AI-ready workloads. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed.

PCIe 4.0 NVMe and SATA Limits

The two Samsung 990 PRO drives run on PCIe 4.0 x4, capped at 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write. The 10TB hard drive uses a SATA 6Gb/s interface, so sustained throughput stays well below the SSD ceiling. Motherboard USB4 and USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports provide external bandwidth, but internal drive speeds are bounded by those two standards.

6TB NVMe Plus 10TB HDD Capacity

Six terabytes of NVMe storage handles active project files, OS and scratch space with headroom for large datasets. The 10TB SATA drive adds economical bulk capacity for archives or backups. Workloads that exceed 6TB of hot data will spill to the slower mechanical tier, and the single RTX 5060 8GB frame buffer limits GPU-accelerated tasks that need more video memory.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 2 TB or 4 TB Samsung 990 PRO for my primary NVMe drive?

The workstation ships with both: a 2 TB drive as the first M.2 SSD and a 4 TB drive as the second, giving you 6 TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage out of the box.

What does the 5.4 GHz boost clock mean for my Threadripper PRO 9985WX workloads?

The 64-core CPU can reach 5.4 GHz on lightly threaded tasks while sustaining 3.2 GHz base across all cores for heavy multi-threaded compute.

How fast can the PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots actually run the Samsung 990 PRO SSDs?

Each 990 PRO is rated for up to 7450 MB/s reads and 6900 MB/s writes over the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface.
