64-Core Threadripper Workstation

This liquid-cooled desktop pairs a 64-core AMD Threadripper 9980X processor with 256GB of DDR5 ECC memory. It targets professionals who need sustained multi-threaded throughput for rendering, simulation or large-scale data analysis. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and ready for immediate deployment.

360mm AIO Cooling And Dual LAN

A 360mm quiet-edition liquid cooler handles the 3.2GHz base clock and 5.4GHz boost headroom inside a Corsair 5000D chassis. Dual LAN ports provide redundant wired connectivity for cluster or NAS workflows. Front-panel I/O includes USB 3.0, USB 3.1 Type-C and audio; rear I/O adds USB4 Type-C and multiple USB 3.2 ports.

Three Samsung 990 PRO NVMe Drives

The boot volume uses a 2TB Samsung 990 PRO while two 4TB units expand fast scratch space, all on PCIe 4.0 x4. A 10TB SATA III hard drive adds bulk archival capacity. An Nvidia RTX A400 4GB card supplies certified display output for professional visualisation. A 1200W 80 PLUS Gold PSU powers the full configuration.

Questions about this item

What practical throughput does the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface deliver for the Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drives?

Each Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drive reaches up to 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write over its PCIe 4.0 x4 link, so the three drives combined provide 10 TB of high-speed storage at those rates.

What clearance and bay space does the Corsair 5000D FRAME case require for the 360 mm liquid cooler and the 10 TB SATA hard drive?

The case fits a 360 mm radiator and offers two internal 3.5-inch bays, so the 10 TB SATA drive mounts in one bay while the liquid cooler occupies the front radiator location.

How is the 256 GB DDR5 ECC memory installed on the TRX50 AERO D motherboard, and what slot population mistake should be avoided?

Populate the DDR5 ECC modules in the correct channel order shown in the motherboard manual; skipping a primary channel slot leaves half the memory controller inactive and halves bandwidth.
