64-Core Threadripper Workstation for Heavy Compute

This liquid-cooled desktop pairs a 64-core AMD Threadripper 9980X processor with 512GB of DDR5 ECC memory. The system targets engineers, researchers and content creators who need sustained multi-threaded performance for simulation, rendering or large-model training. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed on a 2TB NVMe Samsung 990 PRO boot drive.

Suited for Single-Threaded Burst

The CPU boosts to 5.4 GHz, giving strong single-thread speed for interactive workloads. Dual LAN ports and plentiful USB 3.2 Gen 2 and USB4 Type-C connectors support high-speed peripherals and network storage. Buyers who need more than one GPU or more than three M.2 NVMe drives should look at a larger chassis or a rackmount platform.

10TB NVMe RAID-Ready Storage Decides Fit

Three Samsung 990 PRO SSDs (2TB, 4TB, 4TB) deliver up to 7450 MB/s reads and 6900 MB/s writes each, while a 10TB SATA HDD adds bulk capacity. If the workflow demands more than 10TB of high-speed NVMe space or a different RAID topology, this configuration will not suffice.

Questions about this item

What clearance does the 360 mm liquid cooler need in the Corsair 5000D Frame?

The 360 mm Quiet Edition AIO mounts in the 520 mm deep, 245 mm wide, 520 mm high Corsair 5000D Frame case alongside front and rear 120 mm fans.

How is the Threadripper 9980X seated in the sTR5 socket on the Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D, and what step is often missed?

Align the CPU triangle with the socket marker, lower the retention frame, torque the captive screws in a cross pattern, then connect the 360 mm AIO pump header and fan cables before closing the case.

Which storage drives will need replacement first under heavy write workloads?

The three Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSDs (2 TB, 4 TB, 4 TB) and the 10 TB SATA HDD will reach their write-endurance limits before the DDR5 ECC memory or the RTX 5080 16 GB GPU.
