64-core workstation for compute-intensive workflows

This liquid-cooled tower pairs a 64-core Threadripper 9980X processor with 64GB of DDR5 ECC memory and an RTX 5090 32GB GPU. It targets professionals running simulation, rendering or AI workloads that demand high core counts and large video memory. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro installed.

PCIe 4.0 storage limits sequential throughput

The two Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drives operate over a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface, capping sequential reads at 7450 MB/sec and writes at 6900 MB/sec. The 10TB hard drive uses a SATA 6Gb/s link, so sustained transfer rates remain far below the SSD ceiling. Four M.2 slots on the motherboard allow future expansion within the same generation.

6TB fast storage plus 10TB bulk capacity

The combined 6TB of NVMe SSD space handles active project files, OS and applications with headroom for large datasets. The 10TB mechanical drive provides deep archival storage for completed work. Workloads that exceed 64GB of system memory or require multi-GPU scaling will hit the configured limits.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 2 TB or 4 TB NVMe Samsung 990 PRO as my boot drive?

Use the 2 TB Samsung 990 PRO for the operating system and active projects; the 4 TB 990 PRO adds a second high-speed volume for large datasets and scratch files.

What does the 5.4 GHz boost clock on the Threadripper 9980X deliver in daily work?

The 64-core Threadripper 9980X reaches 5.4 GHz on lightly threaded tasks, giving snappy UI response while the 128 threads handle heavy renders and simulations in the background.

How fast can the PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSDs actually move data in this build?

Each Samsung 990 PRO is rated for up to 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write over the PCIe 4.0 x4 link, so large file copies and asset loads run at those speeds.
