Six-port 90 W PoE midspan

This Adaptec midspan delivers up to 90 watts of power over Ethernet across six ports. It complies with the IEEE 802.3bt standard for high-power applications. The unit is designed for indoor deployment and targets devices that require substantial remote power. It suits installers needing a compact power sourcing solution.

IEEE 802.3bt compliance and 90 W output

The midspan’s adherence to the 802.3bt standard enables it to support current and emerging high-power Ethernet terminals. Each port can supply the full 90 W allocation for demanding endpoints. This capability removes the need for separate power supplies at the device location. It simplifies cabling for compatible powered devices.

Indoor high-power PoE deployments

This product fits installers powering 802.11 access points, PTZ cameras, IP videophones or thin clients indoors. It is not suited for outdoor or industrial environments requiring ruggedised enclosures. Buyers needing more than six powered ports should consider higher-density alternatives. Those with only low-power 802.3af devices may find a lower-wattage injector more economical.

Questions about this item

Does the 90W PD9606GCACUS midspan need any fan or filter maintenance over time?

The unit has no user-serviceable fans or filters, so no scheduled internal maintenance is required.

What limits how many ports on the 90W PD9606GCACUS can run at full power continuously?

The total power budget of 90W is the limiting factor; all six ports share that budget.

How much heat does the 90W PD9606GCACUS produce when all six ports are loaded all day?

With a 90W total budget the waste heat stays modest; the fanless design runs silently in a ventilated rack.
