  • Beige ceramic ferrules on each connector for low-loss alignment

AddOn OM4 Duplex Fibre Patch Cable

This .5 metre AddOn cable carries OM4 multimode fibre with LC connectors at both ends. The aqua jacket identifies the OM4 rating and the OFNR marking confirms riser-rated fire performance for vertical runs inside buildings. It suits data-centre patching, campus backbone links and high-speed enterprise networks.

Compatibility checks before ordering

Verify that both ends of your link use LC ports and that the active equipment supports OM4 multimode transmission at the required wavelength. Confirm the patch panel or cassette accepts duplex LC ferrules and that the pathway is rated for OFNR cable so the riser classification remains valid.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

As a passive optical cable it generates no heat, draws no power and produces no audible noise during operation. The riser-rated jacket meets flame-spread requirements without active cooling. Performance stays consistent across the standard indoor temperature range for structured cabling.

Questions about this item

What connectors and cable type are included, and is any additional hardware required?

The cable has LC connectors on both ends in a duplex configuration; no extra hardware is needed for a standard patch connection.

Which fibre specification suits a short 0.5 m patch link in a riser pathway?

The aqua jacket identifies OM4 multimode fibre with an OFNR riser rating, matching short indoor vertical runs.

What does the OM4 rating mean for actual link performance at this length?

OM4 provides high modal bandwidth for multimode links, supporting common Ethernet speeds over the half-metre distance with low insertion loss.
