A 2 m LC-to-ST duplex mode-conditioning patch cable rated OM1 and OS1 for riser installations
This two-metre duplex patch cable connects LC male and ST male interfaces on multimode and single-mode links. It is built for interior fiber-optic runs that require mode conditioning to align single-mode launches away from the multimode core centre. The orange OFNR riser-rated jacket suits indoor installations. Buyers who need outdoor or plenum-rated jackets should look elsewhere.
A mode conditioning cable is required when single-mode transceivers drive multimode fibre, preventing differential mode delay that degrades signal integrity. The jump is worth it when upgrading transceivers to single-mode optics while keeping existing OM1 or OS1 plant. It is not a substitute for a straight duplex patch cord on matched single-mode or multimode connections.
The duplex construction supports simultaneous transmit and receive paths for full-duplex transceiver operation. It comfortably serves typical campus and data-centre backbone distances within OM1 and OS1 specifications. Runs that exceed the modal bandwidth limits of OM1 fibre will need higher-grade cable or shorter links.

It has an LC male connector on one end and an ST male connector on the other end.
Connect the LC end to the transceiver and the ST end to the patch panel, ensuring the transmit and receive strands are not crossed.
Replace it if the jacket shows cracking, the ferrules are scratched, or insertion loss rises above acceptable limits.
