Product Identity

The AddOn ADD-SC-LC-2M5OM4 is a 2-metre OM4 duplex patch cable with SC and LC connectors in an aqua jacket. It is built for installers and network engineers who need laser-optimised multimode fibre for 10 gigabit links up to 300 metres using an 850 nm VCSEL source.

Fire Safety and Jacket Performance

The low-smoke zero-halogen jacket meets plenum fire ratings so the cable can run inside walls and air-handling spaces without conduit. It limits toxic and corrosive gas emission in poorly ventilated areas while maintaining the 50/125 micron core geometry required for 2000 MHz·km effective modal bandwidth at 850 nm.

Backward Compatibility and Lifetime Coverage

The OM4 fibre remains fully compatible with existing 50/125 equipment, allowing upgrades without replacing legacy patch panels, hubs, switches, media converters or routers. A manufacturer lifetime warranty covers the cable for the duration of the installation.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the SC/LC duplex ends and which polarity mistake should I avoid?

Plug the SC connector into the patch-panel side and the LC into the transceiver, keeping the transmit fibre on the same row so the link lights come up green.

When will the OM4 fibre or LSZH jacket need replacement?

The cable carries a lifetime warranty; inspect the aqua jacket after any pull through plenum spaces and replace if the LSZH coating shows cracks or crush marks.

At what distance does the 10 GbE signal hit its OM4 limit?

The 2000 MHz·km EMB rating supports 10 gigabit up to 300 metres at 850 nm before modal dispersion becomes the bottleneck.
