7 m 10GBase-CU SFP+ Twinax Cable

This seven-metre passive copper cable carries 10 Gbps Ethernet between two SFP+ ports. It is built for data-centre racks and campus switches where fibre is unnecessary. The direct-attach design removes the need for separate transceivers and patch cords.

Cisco SFP-H10GB-CU7M Compatibility

The cable is 100 % compatible with the Cisco SFP-H10GB-CU7M part number, so it works in any switch or server that accepts that module. Passive copper limits the reach to the specified 7.00 m without signal regeneration.

CL2-Rated Passive Copper Installation

A CL2 jacket allows in-wall and plenum routing where local codes permit. Nickel-plated connectors resist corrosion during repeated mating cycles. Because the assembly is passive, no firmware upload or power budget calculation is required; simply insert both ends until the latches click.

Questions about this item

What throughput does a 10GBase-CU twinax cable deliver inside a live 10G network?

The cable is rated for 10GBase-CU, so it carries 10 Gbps when plugged into matching SFP+ ports.

Is the SFP+ direct-attach interface passive or active, and what distance does that limit?

It is a passive copper assembly with a maximum reach of 7.00 m (22.97 ft).

What rack or panel clearance does the 7 m black CL2 jacket need for a clean install?

The 7.00 m length and CL2-rated jacket weigh about 0.23 lb, so standard cable-management trays handle the bend radius.
