Palo Alto PA-5020 and PA-5050 connectivity

This AddOn twinaxial cable links SFP+ ports on Palo Alto PA-5020 and PA-5050 appliances. It provides a direct 10 GbE copper connection between compatible network devices. The 3.3 ft length suits rack-mounted equipment placed close together. TAA compliance supports procurement requirements for government contracts.

Sustained 10 GbE throughput over copper

The twinaxial construction maintains signal integrity for continuous 10 GbE traffic without the latency or power draw of optical modules. Copper conductors handle sustained loads in typical data-centre temperatures. Passive design eliminates active components that can degrade under constant operation. Length limits restrict use to adjacent rack positions only.

Questions about this item

How much power does this 10GBASE-CU twinaxial cable draw when running all day?

As a passive copper twinaxial assembly it draws no power of its own; only the SFP+ ports on the Palo PA-5020 or PA-5050 consume power.

Which SFP+ ports must my Palo Alto appliance already have to use this 3.3 ft cable?

The cable plugs directly into any SFP+ port on a Palo PA-5020 or PA-5050; no additional transceivers or adapters are required.
