Scale and Contents

Recommended Builders

Suitable for adult modellers who enjoy assembling detailed jet aircraft kits and applying decals by hand. Not suitable for anyone seeking a ready-made replica, a snap-fit kit that needs no glue, or a package that includes paint, cement or a display stand.

Deciding Specification

The kit provides 154 parts at 1/72 scale and finishes at approximately 7.5 by 6.25 inches, so the parts count and finished footprint are the key figures to check against your workspace and experience level.

Questions about this item

What glue and paint do I need to finish the 154 parts?

The kit requires plastic model cement and paint; neither is included, so choose a polystyrene cement and your preferred acrylic or enamel colours.

Will the 1/72 scale Meteor sit on my existing Airfix display stands?

No display stand is included in the box; the model has no built-in mounting peg, so you would need a separate stand with a suitable cradle or adhesive base.

How can I confirm the assembled model matches the 7.5 by 6.25 inch footprint?

Measure the finished aircraft from nose to tail and wingtip to wingtip; it should be close to 7.5 inches long and 6.25 inches wide when built to the 1/72 scale.
