6 in Caster Wheel 450 lb

The Albion Inc 26Y431 is a 6 inch diameter caster wheel rated for a 450 pound load capacity. It uses a thermoplastic rubber tread on a polypropylene core with a 75 Shore A durometer for soft rolling. The wheel includes a roller bearing and a spanner bushing for a half inch axle.

Check axle size and hub length

Verify that your equipment uses a half inch axle and can accommodate a hub length of 2 15/32 inches. The wheel width is 2 inches and the tread shape is donut, so confirm the fork or bracket clearance matches these dimensions. Ensure the 300 to 999 pound load rating range suits the total weight of your loaded cart or wheelbarrow.

Replaces worn or hard rubber wheels

This wheel upgrades equipment currently fitted with flat, cracked or non marking rubber wheels that no longer roll smoothly. The softer 75 Shore A tread reduces vibration on rough ground and protects floor surfaces. The jump is worth it when the existing wheel core is damaged or the bearing has seized and a direct bolt on replacement is needed.

Questions about this item

Does the 26Y431 caster wheel include the spanner bushing or must I buy it separately?

The spanner bushing is included with the wheel, so no separate purchase is needed for that component.

How do I decide between the 450 lb rating and the 300 to 999 lb range for my cart?

The wheel is rated for 450 lb; choose it when your loaded cart will not exceed that figure, and select a higher-rated wheel if the load could go above 450 lb.

What does the 75 Shore A hardness mean when the wheel rolls on concrete?

A 75 Shore A tread is soft enough to absorb vibration and roll quietly on concrete while still supporting the 450 lb load rating.
