4-Inch Polyolefin Swivel Stem Caster

This caster mounts on a 3/8-16 threaded stem and carries a 275 lb load rating. The polyolefin wheel measures four inches in diameter with a 1 1/4 inch width. A Delrin bearing supports smooth rotation on carts, dollies and light industrial equipment.

275 lb Load Rating Decides Fit

The single figure that determines suitability is the 275 lb capacity per caster. Multiply by the number of casters to find the total weight the set can support. If the loaded cart exceeds this per-wheel limit, the caster is not the right part.

Polyolefin Wheel Handles Smooth Floors

The non-marking polyolefin tread rolls easily on concrete, tile and epoxy without leaving streaks. It resists water, oils and most solvents encountered in shop or warehouse use. On rough gravel, deep cracks or heavy impact loads the material will wear faster and transmit more vibration.

Questions about this item

What does the 275 lb load rating mean once the caster is mounted on a cart?

Each caster supports up to 275 lb, so the total capacity depends on how many casters you install and how evenly the load is distributed.

What stem thread does the 3/8 in.-16 x 1 in stem use, and what does it limit?

The stem uses a 3/8 in.-16 thread; it fits matching threaded holes or nuts and limits mounting to components with that exact thread pitch and length.

What clearance does the 4 13/16 in mounting height and 4 in wheel diameter require?

The caster adds 4 13/16 in of height from the mounting surface to the top of the stem, and the 4 in wheel needs that much vertical space plus room to swivel freely.
