4-Inch Swivel Stem Caster

This new swivel stem caster from Albion Inc. carries a 170 lb load rating on a 4-inch rubber wheel. The zinc-plated steel frame mounts via a 1/2-13 threaded stem measuring 2-1/2 inches long. Overall mounting height reaches 4 13/16 inches with a 1 1/4-inch wheel width.

Indoor Equipment Under 170 lb

Suits light-duty carts, furniture or workshop equipment that stays within the 170 lb per caster limit and uses a 1/2-13 threaded stem socket. Not for loads above 170 lb, applications needing a larger wheel diameter, or units requiring a non-marking tread or a plate mounting pattern.

170 lb Load Rating Decides Fit

The single specification that decides fit is the 170 lb load rating per caster. Multiply by the number of casters to confirm the total capacity meets the equipment weight plus safety margin. If the per-caster load exceeds 170 lb, this model is not suitable.

Questions about this item

What stem size must my cart already have to accept this 32J927 caster?

The caster uses a 1/2 In. -13 x 2-1/2 in threaded stem, so your cart needs a matching threaded hole.

Will the 170 lb load rating support the same weight as my existing 299 lb rated wheels?

No, this caster is rated for 170 lb per wheel, which is lower than a 299 lb rating, so total capacity will drop if you mix them.

How can I confirm the brake is engaging properly after I install the caster?

Lock the brake lever and push the cart; the 4 in rubber wheel should not roll or swivel when the brake is set.
