4 in Nylon Caster Wheel

This 4 in nylon caster wheel carries a 700 lb load rating and fits a 1/2 in axle with an included spanner bushing. The hard 75 Shore D nylon tread resists wear on concrete, shop floors and outdoor surfaces. It is suited for wheelbarrows, utility carts and light industrial equipment that need a single replacement wheel.

Upgrade from lower-rated wheels

Replacing a wheel rated below 300 lb with this 700 lb model removes the risk of sudden failure under heavy loads. The jump is worth it when the cart regularly carries dense materials such as soil, gravel or bagged concrete that push lighter wheels past their limit. The nylon core and standard tread shape maintain rolling ease while adding the higher capacity.

Check axle size and hub length

Verify that the existing axle measures 1/2 in and that the hub opening can accept a 1 3/8 in hub length before ordering. The wheel width is 1 1/4 in, so confirm fork spacing matches this dimension. This wheel is not non-marking and carries a California Proposition 65 warning for cancer and reproductive harm.

Questions about this item

What axle size fits the 1/2 in. bore on this 4 in. nylon caster wheel?

The wheel accepts a 1/2 in. axle and includes a spanner bushing for a secure fit.

How do you install the included spanner bushing on this 700 lb caster wheel?

Slide the bushing through the wheel hub, then insert the axle and tighten; the bushing centers the wheel on the axle.

When should the nylon wheel be replaced based on its 75 Shore D hardness rating?

Replace the wheel if the tread shows flat spots, cracking, or excessive wear that reduces the 700 lb load capacity.
