Upgrade from fixed or smaller wheels

The 1 1/4 in. wheel width and 4 13/16 in. mounting height replace narrower or lower-profile casters on existing carts. The jump is worth it when the application demands smoother swivel action and higher capacity up to 299 lb total.

Threaded stem fits 7/16 in.-14 x 1-1/2 in. sockets

The plain-threaded stem installs directly into compatible brackets without a mounting plate. The rubber tread rolls quietly on pavement and grass while the zinc-plated steel frame resists outdoor moisture. Non-marking tread is not included.

Questions about this item

What stem size and thread does the 4 in. rubber swivel caster use for mounting?

The caster has a 7/16 in. -14 threaded stem that is 1-1/2 in. long, made of steel with a zinc plated finish.

How do you install the threaded stem caster, and what step is often missed?

Thread the 7/16 in. -14 stem into a matching tapped hole or nut until the frame seats firmly; the step often missed is fully tightening it so the 4 13/16 in. mounting height is achieved.

When should the rubber wheel on this 170 lb caster be replaced?

Replace the wheel when the rubber tread shows cracks, flat spots, or wear that reduces the 1 1/4 in. width, or if the plain bearing no longer rolls smoothly.
