ZORO SELECT 6 in. Rubber Caster Wheel 400 lb

This new ZORO SELECT caster wheel fits wheelbarrows and carts that accept a six-inch diameter wheel with a one-and-a-quarter-inch tread width. It uses a plain bore sized for a three-eighths-inch axle and includes a spanner bushing to match the one-and-nine-sixteenths-inch hub length. The rubber tread has a 70 Shore D hardness for firm rolling on hard surfaces.

Check axle size and hub spacing before ordering

Verify that your equipment uses a three-eighths-inch axle and can accommodate a one-and-nine-sixteenths-inch hub length with the supplied spanner bushing. The wheel width is one-and-a-quarter inches, so the fork or bracket must clear that dimension. No non-marking claim is made, so the rubber may leave marks on light-coloured floors.

Thermals noise and power draw in normal use

As a passive rubber wheel, it generates no heat, noise or electrical draw during operation. Rolling resistance is determined by the 70 Shore D hardness and the load applied up to the 400 lb rating. The wheel carries a California Proposition 65 warning for chemicals linked to cancer and reproductive harm.

Questions about this item

Does the ZORO SELECT 26Y378 caster wheel come with an axle or mounting hardware?

The wheel is sold without an axle; a spanner bushing is included for the 3/8 in axle size.

Should I select a wheel rated for 300 lb or 400 lb load capacity?

The wheel carries a 300 lb load rating within the 300 to 999 lb range; the 400 lb figure in the title is a model reference, not the rated capacity.

What does the 70 Shore D hardness mean when the wheel is on a cart?

A 70 Shore D rating indicates a hard rubber tread that resists flattening under load but transmits more vibration than softer wheels.
