Rigid Plate Caster for Heavy Loads

This rigid plate caster carries a 400 lb load rating on a six inch diameter wheel. It is built for carts, wheelbarrows and other yard equipment that must move heavy weight in a straight line. The polyolefin tread and core are non-marking, so floors stay clean during use.

Mounting and Clearance Needs

The plate mounts directly to a flat frame or deck with bolts, requiring no swivel hardware or brake mechanism. Because the caster is rigid it does not turn, so the surrounding structure must provide steering through other wheels. The one and a quarter inch wheel width fits standard axle spacing without modification.

Behaviour Under Continuous Weight

The solid polyolefin wheel resists flat spots when the cart sits loaded for long periods. Non-marking material prevents floor staining even under sustained 400 lb pressure. No brake or lock is fitted, so the caster rolls freely whenever the equipment is pushed.

Questions about this item

How much weight can the 6 in. polyolefin wheel support before it deforms?

The caster is rated for a 400 lb load capacity, which is the maximum weight the wheel and rig are designed to carry without permanent deformation.

Does the rigid plate caster generate noticeable noise or heat when moved continuously across a warehouse floor?

With a polyolefin tread on a polyolefin core and no brake, the wheel rolls quietly and produces negligible heat during all-day use on smooth surfaces.

What mounting hardware must I already have to bolt this plate caster to my equipment?

You need bolts or screws that match the plate’s hole pattern and a rigid frame thick enough to hold the fasteners securely.
