An entry-level Wi-Fi 6 access point with dual 2.4 and 5 GHz radios for high-density enterprise environments
The Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess Stellar AP1301 is an entry-level Wi-Fi 6 access point built for enterprises of all sizes that need simple, secure and scalable wireless networking. It supports high-density client environments with dual-radio operation on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. The unit is fully backward compatible with existing 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac deployments.
The indoor form factor relies on passive cooling for silent operation in office ceilings or walls. Power is delivered through Power over Ethernet, removing the need for a separate mains supply and keeping cabling simple. RF Radio Dynamic Adjustment optimises transmit power and channel selection to reduce interference and manage airtime efficiently.
A distributed control Wi-Fi architecture removes the requirement for a hardware controller, lowering infrastructure cost and complexity. Unified Access provides secure network admission control for every connecting device. Built-in application intelligence and analytics give IT teams visibility into traffic patterns and client health without extra software licences.

Mount the AP1301 on a ceiling or wall using the included bracket, then connect the Ethernet cable to the PoE port; the step often missed is enabling the PoE budget on the switch so the access point powers up without a separate injector.
The AP1301 has no user-serviceable parts; maintenance is limited to checking for firmware updates through the management controller and cleaning dust from the vents to keep the dual 2.4/5 GHz radios running cool.
Under sustained high-density client loads the 802.11ax radio airtime scheduler becomes the bottleneck, so aggregate throughput plateaus before the hardware thermal limits are reached.
