Alera Two-Drawer Pedestal File Putty

This Alera pedestal file cabinet provides two drawers in a box and file configuration. The 6 inch box drawer includes a divider and pencil tray for small items. The 12 inch file drawer fits letter or legal folders with a conversion bar. A putty finish suits neutral office decor.

Capacity and headroom for daily filing

The file drawer holds letter or legal documents with high sides and a conversion bar. The box drawer stores pens, notes and accessories in its tray and divider. Two drawers give enough space for active projects. Very large archive volumes will exceed the single file drawer.

Upgrades from a basic box drawer unit

Replacing a single box drawer cabinet adds legal filing capacity and anti-tip safety. The counterweight prevents tipping when the file drawer opens. Locking casters allow mobility or stationary use with glides. Offices needing multiple file drawers should consider a larger cabinet.

Questions about this item

Will the 14 7/8w x 19 1/8d footprint fit beside my existing desk return?

The pedestal measures 14 7/8 inches wide by 19 1/8 inches deep, so check your clearance against those dimensions before placing it.

How do I verify the anti-tip counterweight is functioning after assembly?

Load the 12-inch file drawer fully and open it; the cabinet should remain stable without tipping forward.

Does the box include the four casters and two glides, or must I order them separately?

The box contains four casters (two locking) and four glides for stationary use; no extra hardware is required.
