Wire shelving connectors for office storage

The Alera SW59SHBL pack contains four metal S hooks finished in black. They are designed to link compatible wire shelving units together, creating a more stable and continuous storage line. Office managers and facilities teams can use them to expand existing shelving runs without extra hardware.

Simple metal hooks with no moving parts

Each hook is a single piece of formed metal, so there is nothing to adjust, lubricate or power. Installation is silent and adds no heat or electrical load to the environment. The hooks simply engage the wire grid of adjoining shelves to hold them in alignment.

Black steel construction for daily use

The four hooks ship together in one pack, ready to distribute across a shelving project. Their S shape slips over standard wire shelf edges, allowing units to be joined or separated as layout needs change. The metal build resists bending under normal shelf loads.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the SW59SHBL hooks to the wire shelving without them slipping off?

Slide each hook over the vertical posts where two shelf levels meet, then press downward until the wire seats fully in the hook’s cradle; the common mistake is leaving the hook perched on the shelf wire instead of locking it onto the post.

Will the black finish on these four hooks need any touch-up or replacement over time?

The metal construction with black coating is designed for indoor office use; no periodic refinishing is required unless the coating is scratched deeply enough to expose bare steel.

What load limit should I watch for when the hooks are supporting heavy bins continuously?

Each hook is rated to hold standard office storage bins; the practical limit appears when the wire shelf itself begins to deflect, so distribute weight evenly across the shelf rather than concentrating it on a single hook.
