Mobile Pedestal for Home Offices

The Alera Valencia mobile pedestal fits under a desk at 15.88 inches wide and 19.13 inches deep, standing 22.88 inches high. Two drawers in a box/file configuration hold supplies and hanging folders. A fifth-wheel anti-tip mechanism prevents tipping when the file drawer is fully extended. Walnut woodgrain laminate resists water, scratches and dents.

Limits of the Laminate Construction

The 3 mm protective edge banding guards the 1-inch thick panels against daily wear, but the material is not rated for heavy impact or continuous moisture exposure. Full-extension ball-bearing slides on the file drawer require a clear floor area equal to the drawer depth for complete opening. Two fold-away safety keys secure both drawers with a single lock.

Replaces Fixed Pedestals and Stackable Trays

This unit replaces a stationary pedestal when the workstation layout changes frequently or when the desk lacks an integrated return. The jump is worth it for users who need lockable file storage that rolls to a new position and matches other Valencia Series components. It does not serve buyers who need lateral file width or fire-rated construction.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the box/file drawer combination or a different layout?

This pedestal only comes in a box/file configuration with two drawers, so there is no alternative layout to choose from.

Will the 22.88 inch height slide under my desk?

At 22.88 inches tall the unit fits under most standard desk clearances, leaving room for your knees and chair arms.

What does the fifth wheel anti-tip mechanism actually stop?

The fifth wheel extends when the file drawer opens, preventing the pedestal from tipping forward even when the drawer is fully loaded.
