Algo Communication Products Ltd
A PoE-powered IP paging adapter that adds wideband voice paging and scheduled bells to legacy analog amplifiers with isolated, balanced output
The Algo 8301 connects legacy analog amplifiers to a VoIP network using PoE. It delivers wideband G.722 audio with an isolated, balanced line output that removes hum and noise. The unit suits facilities managers who need unified paging across IP endpoints and existing analog infrastructure without adding an FXS port or ATA.
Operating temperature ranges from 0 to 40 °C with humidity up to 95 % non-condensing for dry indoor locations. The adapter draws a maximum of 4 W at the device while idle power sits at 2 W, supplied through IEEE 802.3af Class 0 PoE at 48 V. Fanless construction means silent operation in offices, schools or healthcare corridors.
One GByte of onboard storage holds WAV or MP3 files for custom emergency alerts and loud ringing tones. A relay input supports supervised dry contacts compatible with Algo 1202, 1203, 1204 and 1205 accessories or an EOL resistor. RESTful API and integration with Poly Group Page, InformaCast, Revolution and Teams let administrators schedule bells and trigger zones from existing platforms.

Mount the unit in a dry indoor location, connect a PoE cable for power and network, then wire the isolated balanced line output to the amplifier input set between 600 Ohm and 10 kOhm impedance; the step often missed is configuring the line-output impedance match in the web interface before applying audio.
The adapter has no moving parts or user-replaceable modules; keep ventilation clear within the 0 to 40 °C operating range, verify PoE supply stays at Class 0 15.4 W, and reload WAV or MP3 files from the 1 GByte storage if schedules change.
The 4 W maximum power draw at the device and the 1 GByte audio storage capacity are the first constraints; extended high-volume multicast sessions will hit the power ceiling before thermal limits in the 0 to 40 °C range.
