The Alogic ULCHDPD01-SGR is a 1 metre USB-C to HDMI cable that also passes through up to 100 W of USB Power Delivery. It lets a laptop or tablet drive an external display while staying charged from a single port. The three-connector design combines video output and power input in one tidy link.

The spec that decides fit

The cable carries an HDMI 2.0 signal with 18 Gbps bandwidth, supporting 4096x2160 at 60 Hz, HDCP 1.4 and 2.2, HDR and deep colour up to 12 bit. If the host USB-C port does not support DisplayPort Alt Mode, or the display needs HDMI 2.1 features, this cable will not deliver the expected image.

Capacity and headroom

The 18 Gbps link comfortably handles 4K at 60 Hz with full chroma sampling and HDR. It runs out of bandwidth for higher refresh rates at 4K, for 5K or 8K resolutions, or for any HDMI 2.1 feature such as VRR or eARC. The 100 W pass-through covers most ultraportables but will not fast-charge larger workstations that draw more power.
