Dual-band WiFi 6 access point delivering up to 3 Gbps with cloud management, content filtering and IP54-rated durability
The Alta Labs AP6 is a dual-band wireless access point built on the 802.11ax standard, delivering WiFi 6 performance for commercial and residential networks. It connects via a single gigabit Ethernet port and is powered entirely through POE+, simplifying installation where power outlets are unavailable. Cloud-based management is included, accessible through a browser or mobile app for remote configuration and monitoring.
The 5 GHz radio reaches up to 2.4 Gbps using 2x2 MIMO with DL/UL MU-OFDMA and explicit transmit beam-forming, while the 2.4 GHz radio provides up to 573 Mbps with 2x2 MIMO and DL/UL MU-OFDMA. Both bands transmit at 23 dBm with antenna gains of 4.1 dBi and 4.0 dBi respectively. Typical power draw sits between 5 and 12 watts, peaking at 20 watts maximum.
The single GbE RJ45 port caps wired backhaul at 1 Gbps, which can become the bottleneck when aggregate wireless traffic approaches the 3 Gbps rating. The IP54-rated enclosure protects against limited dust ingress and water splashes, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas but not direct exposure. Buyers needing multi-gigabit uplinks or full outdoor ruggedisation should consider other models.

Yes, the AP6 supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax standards so it operates alongside WiFi4 and WiFi5 hardware on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.
Use the Alta Labs cloud dashboard or mobile app to view real-time client throughput, signal strength, and band utilisation for each connected device.
The AP6 is powered via PoE+ only; no injector or AC adapter is included, so you must supply a compliant PoE+ switch or midspan injector.
