Three-outlet strip for small electronics

This pack provides two six-foot indoor extension cords, each with three grounded outlets. They accept both two- and three-prong plugs from lamps, chargers and similar low-power devices. The flat plug sits flush against the wall so furniture can be placed close by. Each unit is rated for 13 amps at 125 VAC.

13-amp 125-VAC limit defines safe load

The cord and outlets are built to a maximum of 13 amps, 125 VAC and 1625 watts. That ceiling is set by the plug, the internal wiring and the safety listing, so it cannot be exceeded by using a different socket. Any combination of connected devices must stay within this total, or the strip will overheat and trip its protection.

Handles phone chargers, lamps and routers

With 1625 watts available, the strip comfortably runs several phone chargers, a desk lamp and a wireless router at the same time. It runs out when a space heater, hair dryer or kitchen appliance pushes the load past 13 amps. Buyers who need to run high-draw appliances should use a dedicated circuit instead.
