4MP Indoor WiFi Camera with Pan/Tilt

The Amcrest IP4M-1041B captures 4-megapixel video at 2688x1520P resolution and 30 frames per second. It uses H.265 compression to reduce bandwidth and storage needs while maintaining clarity. The camera suits homeowners who want detailed indoor monitoring with remote access via smartphone or PC. Buyers needing outdoor-rated hardware or digital zoom should look elsewhere.

2.4 GHz WiFi and H.265 Constraints

The camera connects only on the 2.4 GHz band, so it will not join 5 GHz networks. H.265 encoding lowers file sizes but requires compatible playback software or devices. Night vision reaches up to 32 feet using built-in IR LEDs, and the fixed lens provides a 90° field of view. Users needing wider coverage or multi-band WiFi support cannot meet those needs with this model.

Check Network and Storage Compatibility

Verify that your router broadcasts a 2.4 GHz SSID and that your chosen recording platform — Amcrest Cloud, MicroSD, NVR, Synology, QNAP, FTP or browser — supports H.265 streams. The camera draws power from an included adapter, so confirm an outlet is near the intended mount location. Two-way audio and privacy mode are managed through the Amcrest View app.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 4MP model or a lower-resolution option?

This camera captures 4MP video at 2688x1520P and 30fps using H.265 compression, which reduces file sizes and bandwidth while maintaining detail for indoor monitoring.

What does 4MP at 30fps actually look like on my phone or NVR?

You get smooth 2688x1520P footage at 30 frames per second with low-light capability up to 32 feet, viewable via the Amcrest View app, Amcrest Surveillance Pro, Blue Iris, or compatible NAS systems.

What does the 2.4GHz WiFi connection limit in practice?

The 2.4GHz band provides wider indoor coverage through walls but caps throughput lower than 5GHz, so the H.265 codec helps keep 4MP streams stable within that bandwidth envelope.
