Amcrest 5MP PoE Bullet Camera

This Amcrest IP5M-B1186EW-28MM is a 5-megapixel network camera built for outdoor surveillance. It captures 2592 x 1944p video at 20 fps through a fixed 2.8mm lens. Power over Ethernet simplifies cabling by delivering data and power over a single line. The white bullet housing carries an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance.

Suits PoE installs with local or cloud recording

Buyers who need a weatherproof bullet camera that records to MicroSD cards up to 256 GB, an Amcrest NVR, FTP, NAS or Amcrest Cloud will find the supported storage options covered. The 103° viewing angle and 98.4 ft IR night vision fit standard perimeter monitoring. Installers without a PoE switch or injector must supply that equipment separately. The unit operates from -40 °F to 140 °F.

Fixed 2.8mm lens sets the field of view

The 2.8mm focal length provides a 103° horizontal angle that cannot be adjusted optically. If the monitored area requires a narrower or wider perspective, a camera with a varifocal or different fixed lens is required. Dual H.265/H.264 compression reduces bandwidth and storage demand. The camera weighs 1.1 lbs and measures 6.5 x 2.76 inches.

Questions about this item

What mounting hardware fits the 6.5 by 2.76 inch bullet body?

The camera housing measures 6.5 by 2.76 inches and weighs 1.1 lbs; standard bullet-camera brackets with matching hole spacing will secure it.

Which step is often missed when powering the camera over Ethernet?

A PoE injector or PoE switch is required and not included; connect the camera to one of those before linking to the network.

When should the IR LED be checked or replaced for the 98.4 foot night vision range?

Inspect the IR LED if night footage becomes dim beyond 98.4 feet; the single LED is not user-replaceable, so the camera would need service.
