5MP Wedge PoE AI Camera

The Amcrest IP5M-W1150EW-AI is a 5-megapixel outdoor IP camera with a 2.8 mm lens that delivers a 130 field of view. It records at 5MP at 20 fps using H.265 or H.264 compression and includes a built-in microphone for one-way audio. The wedge form factor measures 4.3 by 4.3 by 2.2 inches and weighs .8 lbs.

Upgrade from basic motion cameras

AI-powered Smart Motion Detection filters alerts so only humans or motor vehicles trigger notifications, while IVS adds perimeter protection for defined zones. Eight IR LEDs provide night vision up to 98 feet, and 120 dB wide dynamic range balances high-contrast scenes. The jump is worth it when false alerts from foliage or shadows make standard motion detection unusable.

Check PoE power and storage first

The camera requires an 802.3af PoE injector or switch, which is not included. Verify your NVR, NAS or recorder supports ONVIF or Amcrest protocols and that you have a MicroSD card up to 256 GB, a PC running Amcrest Surveillance Pro, or an Amcrest Cloud plan for recording. Ensure the mounting surface can accommodate the 4.3-inch square footprint.
