Amcrest 4K 8MP Bullet Camera

The Amcrest IP8M-2496EB-V2 is a 4K 8-megapixel outdoor bullet network camera designed for property owners who need detailed surveillance footage. It captures video at 3840x2160 resolution using a Sony Starvis 1/2.5 inch sensor and Ambarella S3LM chipset. The fixed 2.8mm lens provides a 112° viewing angle. This PoE-powered device targets residential and small-business users seeking a single high-resolution unit.

256GB MicroSD & Cloud Recording

The camera includes a 256GB MicroSD card for local edge recording without a separate recorder. It also supports optional Amcrest Cloud subscription for off-site backup accessible via web browser or smartphone app. Footage can be sent to Amcrest NVRs, Synology or QNAP NAS, or an FTP server. Smart motion alerts with email snapshots and SSL/HTTPS encryption are handled by the onboard firmware.

IP67 Housing for Fixed Outdoor Mounting

The heavy-duty metal housing meets IP67 weatherproofing for rain, dust, and snow exposure. Two IR LEDs deliver 131ft night vision in total darkness. Buyers who need pan, tilt, or optical zoom movement should look elsewhere, as this is a fixed-lens bullet model. Installations requiring wireless connectivity or battery operation are not supported by this PoE-only design.

Questions about this item

Does the 256 GB MicroSD card slot need a replacement card after heavy use?

The camera records to MicroSD cards up to 256 GB; cards wear out over time and should be replaced when write cycles degrade.

What limits continuous 4K 8MP 3840x2160 recording first?

The 256 GB MicroSD capacity fills quickly at 8MP resolution, so storage space is the first constraint on uninterrupted recording.

How hot or loud does the IP67 metal housing get during all-day operation?

The IP67-rated metal housing passively dissipates heat from the Sony Starvis sensor and IR LEDs; the unit has no fan and runs silently.
