8-Channel 1080p POE NVR

The Amcrest NV4108E is a network video recorder that manages up to eight Power-over-Ethernet IP cameras. It records 1080p footage at 30 frames per second across all channels. The unit includes a USB mouse, a network cable and a power supply for immediate setup. Hard drives up to four terabytes are supported for local storage.

Buyers needing real-time 1080p on eight POE ports

This recorder suits installations that require eight simultaneous 1080p streams at 30fps with POE cabling. It also handles 3MP recording on eight channels and 4MP on eight channels with four-channel playback at 20fps. Systems needing more than eight cameras or higher playback counts at 5MP should consider a larger recorder.

Maximum drive capacity of 4TB

The specification that decides fit is the four-terabyte drive limit. This ceiling determines how many days of 1080p or multi-megapixel footage can be retained before overwriting. Verify that the capacity matches your retention requirements before purchase.

Questions about this item

How do I install the NV4108E and connect the cameras without a separate switch?

Connect each IP camera directly to the NVR's built-in PoE ports using Ethernet cables; the recorder supplies power and data on the same cable, so no external PoE switch is needed.

What storage maintenance will the NV4108E require after deployment?

The unit accepts one internal hard drive up to 4 TB; plan to replace the drive if it reaches capacity or shows SMART errors, and use the USB port for periodic footage backup.

What playback limit appears first when all eight channels record 5 MP video continuously?

At 5 MP resolution the NV4108E drops to 8 fps total across two playback channels, so multi-camera review becomes the bottleneck before storage fills.
