MegaDome 2MP IP camera

The American Dynamics AV2155DN is a 2 megapixel network security camera built for wired surveillance systems. It uses a 1/2 inch CMOS sensor with a varifocal 4.5-10mm lens to cover adjustable viewing angles. The dome housing meets IP66 weatherproof and vandal resistant ratings for outdoor or indoor mounting. H.264 and M-JPEG compression options help manage bandwidth and storage.

Suited for fixed outdoor surveillance

This model suits installers who need a day-night camera with infrared sensitivity down to 0 lux for low-light coverage. The ceiling and wall mount flexibility supports common building perimeters. Buyers requiring wireless connectivity or battery operation should look elsewhere because the unit only supports wired network and power connections. It also lacks onboard analytics found on newer platforms.

Varifocal lens and IP66 housing

The 4.5-10mm varifocal lens lets installers set the field of view on site without swapping fixed lenses. IP66 weatherproofing and vandal resistant construction reduce maintenance calls in exposed locations. Programmable backlight compensation and auto multi-matrix white balance adapt to changing light automatically. These features cut setup time and improve reliability in mixed lighting.

How can I verify the camera is capturing usable footage after I mount it?

Check the live view for a clear 2 MP image, confirm the varifocal 4.5-10mm lens is focused, and ensure the IR LEDs activate at 0 Lux for night vision.
