High-Volume Aluminum Rotary Pump

The American Forge & Foundry 8071 is a positive-displacement pump built for transferring petroleum-based products. Its die-cast aluminum body and Buna-N seals suit workshops, farms and fleet garages that move oil or lubricants regularly.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

The pump is hand-operated so it produces no motor heat, electrical noise or power draw during use. Operation stays quiet because only the rotating handle and internal gears move.

Bung Adapter and Zinc-Plated Components

A bung adapter is included for direct drum mounting. The handle and discharge spout are zinc-plated with a powder-coated finish for corrosion resistance. Buyers needing electric drive or chemical-compatible seals should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How do I install the bung adapter on the 8071 rotary pump, and what step is often missed?

Thread the bung adapter into the drum opening until the pump base sits flush; the step often missed is tightening the set screw on the adapter collar so the pump cannot rotate during use.

Which parts of the 8071 pump will need replacement after extended service?

The Buna-N seals inside the cast aluminum rotor assembly wear first; the zinc-plated handle and powder-coated discharge spout resist corrosion longer than the seals.

What limit appears first when the 8071 pump runs continuously on petroleum products?

Heat buildup in the die-cast aluminum body reduces seal life before the one-quart-per-revolution delivery rate drops noticeably.
