5MP PoE AI bullet camera

The AMLINK AL5M-B5172EW is a 5MP PoE network camera built for indoor and outdoor surveillance. It captures video at 5MP resolution and 20fps with a 132° viewing angle and an F1.6 aperture on a 1/2.7" sensor. AI-driven human, face and vehicle detection filters events to reduce false alerts. The IP67-rated metal housing withstands weather exposure.

PoE installation and common issues

Power over Ethernet simplifies cabling because a single cable carries both data and power, but a PoE injector or switch is required and is not included. The camera supports H.265 and H.264 compression for efficient storage on MicroSD cards up to 256GB, a PC or an AMLINK NVR. Setup is managed through the AMLINK Pro App and AMLINK Surveillance Pro software for Windows and Mac. Forgetting the separate PoE power source is the most frequent installation problem.

Sustained operation and night performance

Dual illumination combines full-colour NightColor LEDs with IR to provide up to 100ft of colour night vision during continuous recording. The IP67 metal enclosure maintains protection during extended outdoor exposure. Two-way audio via built-in microphone and speaker operates alongside long-term recording. NDAA compliance and the absence of FCC Covered List components satisfy regulatory requirements for prolonged deployments.

Open the AMLINK Pro App or AMLINK Surveillance Pro on Windows or Mac and check the live view settings; the stream should show 5MP resolution at 20fps with H.265 or H.264 encoding active.

What accessories come with the camera and what must I purchase separately?

The camera includes the bullet housing with built-in microphone and speaker; you must supply a PoE injector or PoE switch and a microSD card up to 256GB if you want local storage.

Should I choose the 5MP 20fps model or a different resolution for 100ft colour night vision?

This AL5M-B5172EW is the only version listed; its 5MP sensor, F1.6 aperture and 1/2.7" format deliver the specified 100ft full-colour night vision and 132° viewing angle.
