Non-Sparking Ball Pein Hammer

The Ampco H-112FG is a 12-ounce ball pein hammer built for hazardous locations where a standard steel head could create sparks. Its non-magnetic, non-sparking construction protects personnel and sensitive equipment such as MRI scanners during maintenance tasks. The fiberglass handle reduces weight while absorbing shock as effectively as wood. It suits professionals who need a safe striking tool in flammable or explosive atmospheres.

Capacity and Headroom

The 12-ounce head delivers controlled impact for light shaping, riveting and alignment work in restricted zones. It handles routine maintenance strikes comfortably but lacks the mass for heavy forging or demolition tasks. Users requiring high-energy blows or driving large cold chisels will reach the tool's practical limit quickly. The design prioritises precision and safety over raw striking power in volatile environments.

Proposition 65 Chemical Warning

This product contains a chemical listed under California Proposition 65 that is known to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Buyers who need a hammer without regulated substances must select a different model. The warning applies to the hammer as supplied and does not change its non-sparking or non-magnetic performance characteristics.

Questions about this item

Will the 12 oz Ampco ball pein hammer work safely alongside older MRI equipment I still service?

The hammer is nonmagnetic and nonsparking, so it will not interfere with MRI magnets or ignite flammable gases during maintenance.

How can I confirm the fiberglass handle is absorbing shock as intended after my first few strikes?

You should feel noticeably less vibration in your hand compared with a metal handle, reducing fatigue during repeated use.

Does the H-112FG come with any protective sheath or do I need to buy one separately?

The box contains only the 12 oz ball pein hammer with its fiberglass handle; no sheath or accessories are included.
