AMX 1920x1200 Decoder Card

The AMX NMX-DEC-N1222A is a new decoder card designed for professional video distribution over IP networks. It receives network video streams via RJ45 Ethernet and outputs up to 1920x1200 resolution with low latency. The card handles digital-to-analog audio conversion at 16-bit 32 kHz for stereo output alongside 8-channel PCM via HDMI.

Integrators needing 10 ms latency at 60 fps

This card suits AV integrators building systems that require 10 ms video latency at 60 fps over standard Gigabit Ethernet infrastructure. It is not for installations needing resolutions above 1920x1200 or multi-channel analog audio beyond stereo. Buyers requiring fiber connectivity or different audio sampling rates should look at other devices.

10 ms latency at 60 fps over Ethernet

The defining specification is 10 ms video latency at 60 fps delivered over 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet. This figure determines whether the card meets the timing requirements for live switching, interactive displays or confidence monitoring. If the application tolerates higher latency, a simpler extender may suffice.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the NMX-DEC-N1222A or the FGN1222A-SA-B version?

Both codes refer to the same decoder card; choose whichever part number matches your order.

What does the 10 ms latency mean when the card is running at 60 fps?

It adds only 10 ms delay at 60 frames per second, keeping video and audio tightly synchronised.

How fast is the RJ45 Ethernet link in practice?

The port negotiates at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps, capping throughput to the slowest link in the chain.
