Transition Networks SISTP1013-141-LRT 5-Port 100Base-FX Media Converter

SKU CH-J6NB-9ZVPR MPN SISTP1013-141-LRT

Five-port media converter links four RJ-45 copper ports to one SC fibre port at 100Base-FX over 1.24 miles in a wall-mountable enclosure

  • Connect four RJ-45 devices via four copper ports
  • Extend fibre links up to 1.24 mile over single SC port
  • Fit tight spaces with wall-mountable external chassis
  • Support 100Base-FX and 10/100Base-TX networks
  • Deploy five ports in one compact media converter

Five-port 100Base-FX converter

This wall-mountable media converter bridges four copper RJ-45 ports with one SC fibre port. It supports 10/100Base-TX on the copper side and 100Base-FX on the fibre side. Network operators extending legacy Fast Ethernet links over multimode fibre will find it a direct fit.

Sustained 100 Mbps fibre throughput

The converter maintains line-rate 100Base-FX signalling across the full 1.24 mile distance without step-down. Internal buffering handles continuous traffic from all four RJ-45 ports simultaneously. No performance degradation appears during prolonged multicast or broadcast storms.

100Base-FX distance ceiling

Multimode fibre segments are limited to the stated 1.24 mile maximum; longer runs require single-mode optics not present here. The single SC port provides one uplink only, so redundant fibre paths need additional converters. Copper links stay within standard 100 metre 10/100Base-TX reach.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the SISTP1013-141-LRT produce when running 24/7?

The unit is a compact wall-mountable media converter with no internal fan, so it runs silently and generates minimal heat during continuous operation.

What cables or modules must I already have to use the four RJ-45 ports and the single SC port?

You need four twisted-pair copper cables for the 10/100Base-TX RJ-45 ports and one multimode fibre patch cord with SC connectors for the 100Base-FX uplink.

Will this converter link reliably with my older 10 Mbps Ethernet switches?

Yes, the RJ-45 ports auto-negotiate 10 or 100 Mbps, so legacy 10Base-T equipment connects without configuration.
