Marine-Grade Primary Wire

Ancor Products 106310 supplies 100 feet of 12 AWG stranded wire built for marine electrical systems. Tinned copper conductors resist corrosion and electrolysis while Type 3 stranding withstands constant vibration and flexing aboard boats and other craft.

Temperature Ratings and Voltage

Proprietary vinyl insulation remains flexible in extreme cold and carries a 600 volt rating with 105°C dry and 75°C wet temperature limits. The jacket resists heat, abrasion, salt water, battery acid, oil, gasoline and ultra-violet radiation during normal operation.

Standards Compliance

The wire exceeds UL 1426, US Coast Guard Charter boat (CFR Title 46) and ABYC requirements, so installers can meet regulatory inspections without additional sleeving or derating. Green colour coding simplifies circuit identification in complex DC wiring looms.

Questions about this item

How do I route the 12 AWG wire through bulkheads without damaging the vinyl insulation?

Use smooth grommets or conduit at every penetration; the proprietary vinyl resists abrasion but can still be cut by sharp metal edges if pulled hard.

What part of this wire will need replacement first in a salt-water environment?

The tinned copper stranding resists corrosion, so the vinyl jacket is the first layer to degrade after years of UV and chemical exposure.

At what temperature does the insulation rating become the limiting factor during continuous load?

The jacket is rated 105 °C dry and 75 °C wet; in engine-room heat the wet rating is reached first, so keep bundle temperatures below 75 °C.
