140W 4-Port GaN Charger for Laptops and Phones

This Anker A2697 charger delivers up to 140 watts of power across four USB-C ports using gallium-nitride circuitry. It ships with a 240-watt USB-C cable and a colour display that shows real-time voltage, current and temperature data for each active port. The unit measures 2.72 by 2.72 by 1.42 inches and weighs 0.64 pounds.

Travellers and multi-device owners who need one

The dual 140-watt USB-C ports can bring a 15-inch MacBook Air to 50 percent charge in roughly 30 minutes while still leaving capacity for a phone, tablet or accessories. Buyers whose laptop requires more than 140 watts or who need additional USB-A ports should look at a higher-wattage or differently configured adapter.

140-watt maximum single-port output

The critical figure is the 140-watt peak available from either of the two primary USB-C connectors under the PD 3.1 standard. If the device you intend to charge draws more than that limit, this charger cannot supply full speed.

Questions about this item

How much desk space does the 2.72 in × 2.72 in footprint of this Anker A2697 charger occupy?

The unit measures 2.72 inches wide by 2.72 inches deep and 1.42 inches tall, so it fits in a 7.4-square-inch area on a desk or power strip.

What is the correct way to plug in the included 5 ft USB-C cable so the charger delivers up to 140 W?

Connect the cable to either of the two USB-C ports marked for 140 W output; using a USB-A port or a lower-rated cable will limit power.

When should the 5 ft 240 W USB-C to USB-C cable that comes in the box be replaced?

Replace the cable if the connectors become loose, the sheath shows cuts or fraying, or devices no longer negotiate the full 140 W rate.
