Eight-computer KVM control

The Aomoproing 801UK-L lets one monitor, keyboard and mouse manage eight computers or servers through VGA and USB 2.0 connections. It ships with eight 2-in-1 cables that combine video and USB in a single run, plus a wired desktop selector and a half-U rackmount kit for fixed installations.

Passive operation and cable reach

No external power supply is needed; the switch draws power from the attached computers through the USB 2.0 links. The supplier notes that the distance between the switch and any connected system must not exceed 16 ft, and the included cables measure 5 ft and 6 ft respectively.

Sustained multi-system switching

Two switching methods — front-panel buttons and the 2 m desktop selector — allow instant port changes without software drivers. Hot-plug support means computers can be added or removed while the switch remains active, and the stated 1920x1440 resolution holds across extended sessions with Windows, Linux and legacy operating systems.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 801UK-L with the desktop selector and avoid the common mistake of exceeding the cable distance?

Connect each computer using the supplied 5 ft or 6 ft USB VGA cables, attach the desktop selector, and ensure no computer sits farther than 16 ft from the switch.

Which component will need replacement first under daily switching?

The 2.0 USB VGA cables and the desktop selector button are the moving parts most likely to wear out before the switch chassis.

What resolution limit appears first when running eight PCs continuously?

The VGA link caps output at 1920x1440, so sustained multi-system use cannot exceed that resolution.
