  • Gold-plated RJ45 contacts with snagless boots resist corrosion

Cat 7 flat cable for home networking

This Cat 7 flat Ethernet cable measures 3.3 ft and uses 100 % bare copper conductors in a 4-pair SSTP structure. It terminates in gold-plated RJ45 connectors with moulded strain-relief boots and snagless moulds. The design suits Xbox, PlayStation, PCs, routers, switches, printers, NAS and VoIP phones.

Sustained throughput up to 10 Gigabit

The cable is rated for 10000 Mbps and a bandwidth of 600 MHz, supporting continuous high-speed transfers for online gaming, HD video streaming, server workloads and cloud applications. Flat geometry and multi-strand 32 AWG wires keep the link flexible for routing under carpets or along walls without tangling.

Practical limits of the Cat 7 interface

Backward compatibility with Cat 5, Cat 5e, Cat 6 and Cat 6A means the cord works with older ports, yet the link speed will not exceed the lowest-rated device in the chain. The 3.3 ft length restricts use to short runs between adjacent equipment; longer distances need a different cable.

Questions about this item

Does the 32 AWG flat Cat 7 cable run hot or draw noticeable power during all-day 10 Gbps transfers?

Ethernet cables carry only signal current, so the 32 AWG conductors generate no measurable heat and consume no meaningful power even at continuous 10000 Mbps throughput.

What equipment must I already have to use the gold-plated RJ45 connectors on this 3.3 ft patch cord?

Any device with a standard 8P8C Ethernet port — router, switch, modem, PC, NAS, printer, VoIP phone, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 or similar — will accept the connectors directly.

Will the SSTP shielding and 600 MHz bandwidth work reliably with my older Cat 5e wall jacks and 100 Mbps switch?

Yes, the cable is backward compatible with Cat 5, Cat 5e, Cat 6 and Cat 6A infrastructure, so it will negotiate the highest speed both ends support without signal-quality issues.
