20-metre optical DisplayPort 1.4 cable

This twenty-metre optical cable carries DisplayPort 1.4 signals between a source and a display without signal loss. It is built for installations where copper cables would exceed their reliable reach. The fibre construction keeps the link stable at full bandwidth across the entire length.

Who it suits and who it does not

The cable suits PC builders, home-theatre installers and VR users who need a single long run at 8K 60 Hz or 4K 144 Hz. It does not suit setups that require lengths beyond twenty metres or buyers who need an active copper alternative for tighter bends.

Capacity and headroom

The link delivers 32.4 Gbit/s bandwidth, supporting 7680×4320 at 60 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz with HDR. At 8K 60 Hz the cable operates at its rated ceiling; higher refresh rates at that resolution would exceed the available headroom.

Questions about this item

Does my graphics card need a DisplayPort 1.4 output to use this 20 m cable at 8K 60 Hz?

Yes, the cable is built to the DisplayPort 1.4 standard and requires a DP 1.4 source to deliver 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at 144 Hz.

Can I keep my older DisplayPort 1.2 monitor and still get a signal through this 20 m optical cable?

The cable is backward compatible, so a DP 1.2 display will work, but it will be limited to the lower bandwidth and resolutions of that older standard.

How can I verify the cable is running at the full 32.4 Gbps after I plug it in?

Check your GPU control panel or monitor OSD — they should report 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at 144 Hz with HDR active, confirming the full HBR3 link is established.
